Bitcoin, the crypto king and once holding a dominant 85% total market capitalization earlier this year, has fallen to its lowest point ever of 36% according to coin tracking website CoinMarketCap.com. It’s previous low was 37.81% which occurred on June 17th, 2017.
Retracing from its highs a few weeks back at $19,800, Bitcoin currently sits at a price of $13,360 at the time of this writing. That’s nothing to fret over, as the crypto king has surged nearly 1300% even after its 40% retracement.
But its not Bitcoin that has been doing all the moving, but rather alt coins which are rapidly closing the gap and accounting for nearly 65% of the current $631 billion dollar crypto market cap!
2018 is going to be the year of the alt coins, and I see this Bitcoin dominance number shrinking even further in the future.
